Graduation Requirements

Students must take at least 6 academic subjects per year and complete a total of 24 credits that include the following courses:

Class of 2024

English - 4 credits      

Math - 3 credits 

must include .5 credit of Statistics

Social Studies - 3.5 credits

1 credit of Geography

1 credit of  World History

1 credit of US History

.5 credit of a Social Studies elective

 Science - 3 credits

        1 credit of Earth Science

        1 credit of Biology

        .5 credit of Chemistry

        .5 credit of Physics

Fine Art - 1 credit     

Health - .5 credit

Physical Education - 1 credit

Class of 2025

English - 4 credits      

Math - 3 credits 

must include .5 credit of Statistics

Social Studies - 3.5 credits

1 credit of Geography

1 credit of  World History

1 credit of US History

.5 credit of a Social Studies elective

 Science - 3 credits

        .5 credit of Earth Science

General College Preparation Guidelines 

For students planning to attend a 4 Year College/University you will need the following courses:

College Preparatory English - 4 years

Algebra 1,2

Geometry

Lab Science (2 or 3) - Biology, Chemistry, Physics

Social Studies - 2 years

world Language - 2 or more years of the same language

For students planning to attend a 2 Year Community College you will need the following courses:

English - 4 years 

Algebra 1 - required

Algebra 2 - recommended

Geometry - required

Social Studies - 2 years

Science - 1 year (Physics or Chemistry recommended) Lab - recommended

Training at Waldo County Tech Center recommended

Many selective colleges will require four years of college prep curriculum: English, Math, Science, Social Studies and World Language.
