Seniors! Apply for the Worthington Scholarship Now!

Applications for the Worthington Foundation Scholarship are now available in the Belfast Area High School Counseling Office. This scholarship is relatively new to BAHS and is unique in that it offers students $4,000 per year, each year a student is in college (up to four years). Up to fifteen students in the Class of 2020 can be awarded this scholarship. There are three requirements for a student to be eligible for this scholarship: 

1. The student must have a GPA of 85 or better for a four year college, or a 77 GPA 

or better for attendance at a community college. 

2. The Expected Family Contribution (EFC) found on the first page of the Student Aid  Report (SAR) from the FAFSA must be $15,000 or less. 

3. The student must be attending a Maine college that is a Worthington Family College: All University of Maine Colleges, all Maine Community Colleges, Bates College, Bowdoin College, Colby College, Husson University, Maine Maritime Academy, Thomas College. 

Students should pick up and fill out the application as soon as possible. Applications must be turned in to the School Counseling Office by Wednesday, April 1, 2020. Students who are chosen to receive the scholarship will be informed by Wednesday, April 15th. Students must make the decision about which college to attend by Friday, May 1st. Families must let the School Counseling Office know by Tuesday, May 5th if the Student will accept the scholarship offer and attend a Maine college on the list.
