The BAHS Civil Rights Team is planning on leading the local observance of the National Day of Silence. Taking place on April 14 (moved from April 15 due to scheduling constraints), the National Day of Silence is an event which is intended to show solidarity with marginalized LGBTQ+ groups. Specifically, students are allowed and encouraged to take a vow of silence for the day to illustrate the powerful silencing effect of bullying and harassment on LGBTQ+ individuals. Students that wish to participate in the event must register with a representative of the BAHS Civil Rights Team, ideally on April 13.
