A group of very excited students and some parents are traveling to Costa Rica at the end of June, 2015. The trip is an adventure, eco-tour, with a measure of community service. Students will have the opportunity to see an active Volcano and sit in hot springs, visit the famous Monteverde cloud rainforest and complete a tour of the canopy via a zipline, kayak, hike, plant a tree in a biological reserve, horseback ride, visit a local school and donate some supplies for the children, and spend time on the beach on the Pacific Ocean side of the country. Our group will have a trained local tour guide to lead us in a thrilling and unique educational experience in Central America. The trip is a package eco-tour that includes airfare, all meals, hotels, transportation, and the cost of activities. Students need only bring some spending money for incidentals or souvenirs. Students up to 20 years old and adults are welcome to join our tour. Please see Mrs. Ballard at Belfast Area High School or call at 338-1790 ext. 226 for more information. Online information is at www.explorica.com/Ballard-4149 Costa Rica Fundraisers: Ford Drive One 4 Ur School at Quirk Ford in Belfast on Saturday, May 3, from 8am-3:30pm.
