BAHS Hosted Our Own College and Career Fair

On Thursday, October 19, Belfast Area High School hosted the Post-Secondary Education Workshop (PSEW). The PSEW is a college/career fair. Students attended four half-hour workshops on college, military, or careers to learn more about post-secondary possibilities or topics around college application.


Colleges that attended included: all branches of the University of Maine System, most branches of the Community College system, Beal College, Colby-Sawyer College, College of the Atlantic, Husson University, Maine Maritime Academy, Northeast Technical Institute, St. Joseph’s College, and Thomas College.


Special topics that were presented include: Completing the Common Application, Adjusting to College Life, College Essay and Application, Salvaging Your High School Career, Benefits of a Community College, Transfer Options, and Financial Aid by FAME.


Local career presenters included: Front Street Shipyard, Law Enforcement (BPD), Automobile Careers, Game Warden, Health Careers, and Cosmetology.


Representatives from the Army/Army Reserves, Air Force, Maine Air Guard, Marines, and the Army National Guard also presented.
