On Friday, May 12 the Belfast Area High School A.P. Environmental Science class released 196 Atlantic Salmon fry that were raised from eggs. Students released the salmon into Wescott Stream in Waldo County. Students have been working with the Salmon in Schools Program run by the US Fish and Wildlife Service to help restore the wild Atlantic salmon population in the Gulf of Maine.
