Belfast Area High School students in Mr. Lagerbom’s Archaeology class recently traveled to the Maine State Museum in Augusta to tour their exhibit “12,000 Years of Maine History” and to partake in a hands-on flint-knapping exercise where they made their own spear points. The elective class at the high school focuses on all aspects of archaeology including Maine prehistory, historic archaeology, underwater archaeology and forensic archaeology as well as career opportunities in the field.
